I don’t know how to say
The words upon my mind
There is hardly any form
So deceiving, so declined

I’m not hurt, no not bitter
I just can’t seem to think
For the thoughts come to me
Should turn my face pink

Two souls in one body
One half of one whole
I’m tried of trying
To press diamonds of coal

To turn but your ear
I miss every love
That to me, true, was dear

So I cried when you told me
So I laughed when you said
That the person of loathing
Was one I would dread

So groping in winter
With not but a coat
I’m passing all feeling
To stay but afloat
